Find your game.
Get the right mode.

GHOST X speaks several controller languages, and different games listen for different ones. Search your game below to see which mode to use and how to connect.

Before your first game

  1. Install the ABXY app — free on the App Store and Google Play.
  2. Stretch the controller open and slot your phone in, or pair over Bluetooth.
  3. Check the M button colour matches the mode your game needs. It's the controller's way of telling you which language it's speaking.

What the colours mean

PSEverything on iPhone and iPad, and PS Remote Play on any device.
HIDStart here for Android games that already support controllers.
XInputFor games that expect an Xbox controller, plus cloud gaming, PC and Mac.
NSRetro and emulator games on Android, or a Switch with an extension cable.
MappingAndroid only. Turns your buttons into taps on the screen for touch-only games.

How to connect

Android, plugged in

  1. Slot your phone in. If Android asks about USB or OTG access, allow it.
  2. Hold M + Home for 3 seconds until the light turns yellow-green.
  3. Open your game. If it was already open, close it fully and reopen.

Android, Bluetooth as an Xbox pad

  1. Switch to XInput — the light turns blue.
  2. Double-press M, then hold Home for 3 seconds.
  3. In your phone's Bluetooth settings, tap Xbox Wireless Controller.
  4. Open your game.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Switch to PS Mode — the light turns purple.
  2. Slot your device in and try it.
  3. If nothing happens, double-press M and pair with Wireless Controller in Bluetooth settings.

Android, touch mapping

  1. Open the ABXY app and turn on Mapping Mode — the light turns orange.
  2. Allow the permissions it asks for, so it can draw over the game.
  3. Set up a profile for your game by placing buttons over the on-screen controls.
  4. Test it in practice mode before a real match.

Connect the controller before you start the service, not after. Plugged in works best; Bluetooth is the fallback.

If your game isn't responding

  1. Reseat it. Take a thick case off and push the connector all the way in.
  2. Check the colour. Make sure the M button is showing the mode your game needs. The mode and the connection type are two separate settings.
  3. Allow USB access. On Android, some phones need OTG or USB accessories switched on in settings.
  4. Connect first, then launch. If the game was already running, close it completely and open it again.
  5. Look in the game's settings. Many games have their own controller option that needs turning on. Some accept a controller in play but not in menus.
  6. Re-pair. For Bluetooth: forget the old pairing on your phone, double-press M, hold Home for 3 seconds, and pair again.
  7. Try the other mode. If HID by cable isn't working on Android, XInput over Bluetooth usually is.
  8. Update everything. The ABXY app, the controller firmware and the game itself. If you use a mapping profile, rebuild it after a game changes its on-screen layout.

Game not listed?

Use the short version: on Android, if the game supports controllers, start with HID and try XInput over Bluetooth if that fails. If it doesn't support controllers at all, use Mapping Mode. On iPhone and iPad, use PS Mode.
